I then use a separate program, PicBackMan, to sync that iCloud Shared Albums folder to my Google Photos account. To solve for that (albeit in a roundabout way), I have a Windows computer with iCloud for Windows installed that is configured to download all of my iCloud Shared Albums. If that's not the case for OP (I thought I saw a comment thread about configuring and then shipping), then I suggest sharing some "extra" albums during the first setup so that you have some headroom to work with in the future.Īlso, not sure if this will be an issue for OP, but I have about half of the family that's really invested in iCloud Shared Albums and not Google Photos. Luckily, she doesn't live that far away so I was able to go to her house and accept/setup the new shared albums when I needed to. I did still hit the limit for my household, so once I hit the limit I manually moved older photos to a second album that I also shared. I then created separate albums for each household in the family, which helped greatly. I started off with just one shared album for all of the photos that I wanted to share, using the "Add photo of people" feature and almost immediately hit the maximum number of photos in an album limit (20,000 I think). The only issue that I've run into with this setup is that, since I have a lot of photos in my Google Photos account, I hit the maximum number of photos in an album limit. I then shared photos of all of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. I had an extra Google Home Hub that I setup in for the explicit purpose as a Digital Photo Frame. I've done this as well for my Grandmother-in-law.
